Romance, spice and oil

Recalling what Pastor shared with us during 2006 Chinese New Year Reunion dinner... They prepared a hand-out with their thoughts on life and its titled the same as this blog post. But pastors words will always carry a heavier weight and convict on a Godlier power.

Romance
It is love...
Life is a journey.
We all want to be successful.
But what is life when you have success but have noone to celebrate with?
Life sure has its ups and downs. But what is life when you have noone to lean on, and overcome difficulties together? What would friends for? Why would God create family.
You need love in life...
You can't say you have love when you are alone. You have love someone. Family? Friends? Mates? People?
No man is a lone island.
We all need people. we all need love.
It is called Romance.

Spice
Food taste awful when it is raw.
They need flavoring. Salt enhances the taste of MOST foods. So do sauces.
They are the spices of gourmet. Without them, food taste bad. No one would look forward to eating.
Spices are the emotions in life. Without emotions, life is bad.
Spices are the colors around. Without colors, life is black and white. Dull.
Spices makes life fun.
Spices makes life colorful.
Spices makes life enjoyable.
Have emotions.

Oil
Oil lubricates. It is very important for machinery.
It makes things smooth.
Smooth is so important.
When something is not smooth, people get fed-up.
Imagine your family car breaks down every 5 minutes while your family is going out for dinner. Atmosphere turns sour, mood flies away.
What is oil?
Oil is like the chemistry that people can have with each other. Whenever you interact, have chemistry.
let people like you... don't offend people.
let people enjoy you... don't be self-absorb/ self-centered/ self-fish.
Oil is liken to the Holy Spirit... When the Holy Spirit is in your life, you become a nice person to hang out with.
It seems as though you have chemistry. It is true.
When you are a true born-again Christian, God is in you... your character change.
People like you.
You have chemistry
There is oil in your inter-relations.
You enjoy company.
company enjoy you.
Life is great.
You will love life.

You have 1 life... live it to the fullest. Don't waste it...
I live my life with my family... with my spiritual family too.
My Ang family.
My Heart of God Church family.
We love our lives.
We help each other enjoy lives.

You can do the same too.
Let Jesus help you.

Long fruitful day

Today, I woke up at 10am...
Check my emails, cleared it...
Did my workplan... and RAN it...

went jogging, from khatib to yishun, and back...
then started doing up databases, ready for the next collation...
Did up a new template to plan for CG members!

my mandate?
step 1: Treat everyone as God has the BIGGEST vision for them... (that is exactly how God sees every one of you!)
step 2: Plan and think for them on how to bring them further (Moment: Character, revelation, leadership)

The rest... come and ask me...

What else did i do...
i help my parents cut newspapers.
went to find wee hoe for dinner and taught him A-math... woo. I still know my stuff (proving identities, trigo...) I feel so proud. haha.
Met Ai Lin to tell her plans for C5, what we did right, and we can improve on... We are so gonna grow!
Then roderick came along, we hung out, plan for Building Fund... Wee Hoe joined in and started getting so excited! and soon, I were hearing him crying out "i am falling asleep... my eyes are closing"... haha. he is so cute!

Then roderick and me walked to khatib bus stop and chatted, JOKED big time... internal joke** haha...

then settled my workplan, planned for the members..

AND!!! Did up the organisation chart for Zone C!
so ready... so ready.... sent to Nicholas Lee. cool. i am getting excited. haha...
Need to finish up database...
Need to do 60days goal...
Need to sort out to-do list...

TAKE IT ALL...............
DO IT ALL....................

processes

Service, Sermon, Sermonette, discipleships, teachings, comments, casual remarks, ministering, encouragement, shepherding, concerns.......... ALL helps you progress in your life. The only concern are 2 things:
1) Who said them?
2) What are you going to do about it?

Moment, Momentum, Movement, Monument... have you got yourself Motivated?

going running now... starting a Momentum. =) to get My Mind Meditating on this Mandate! =)

Playing in the Big Game

Take 5 minutes to blog... I told myself. I want to blog out my thoughts. here it is...

Last few weeks have been really nice, thinking, expanding, finding ways to know myself and settle down. We always are.

1 thing for sure is I am loving to LIST things. I always have this piece of paper and pen with me, that whatever I need to do, I will write them down... It helps me to remember things. (Not to forget about it after writing down) So every week, I will be doing it, maybe twice a week... 2 different sheets of papers, 1 after another. To-do list never FINISHES! lest you are finished....

We must grow! We will grow! We want to grow!
Judges 5:2
1)When leaders lead in Israel,
2)and the people willingly offer themselves,
4)bless the Lord.

There are 4 statements here. Statement 3 is for you to fill in. Although in the bible, there are 3 statements, but I believe God is trying to tell us that we fill in that blank. That blank will signify WHY we bless the Lord... because of breakthrough, miracles, successes, achievements, prayers answered, etc...BLESS the LORD!

So leaders, please lead! Make things happen..
Members, lets follow the vision.. we are together in this..
This is our primary mission on Earth.

A few more thoughts:
ABC for good CG:
Atmosphere : atmosphere, hype, fun, excitement. (Does people enjoy themselves, love the CG)
Bonding: Closeness, relationship, share good news, and bad, share secrets. (Is there real relationship in the CG)
Connection: Physically and spiritually. (Does the CG literally meet up, and are together. When together, do they do spiritual things and connect to God, to church?)

Another "D" for leaders to note:
4D: Desire for growth, Desperate for breakthrough, Determination to hang on, then you will Discover talents!

Got to go out!

WORTH

Feeling a lot of 'worth' recently.
Things are worth fighting for... dying for... tiring for... suffering for...
passion fuels it
rewards entice it
satisfaction brings a smile
BIGGER hearts prepared for it
BIGGER minds imagine it
BIGGER territory claims it

What is worth you spending time for?
Run after Him

What is worthy of your praise?
Worship Him

What can your worth become?
Guard your heart. All glory goes to Him.

What will become of me?
A servant leader for Him.

1 corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

common to man
Every temptations (in the form of problems, difficulties, challenges) are common. They have either happen to you or others before. You are not the only one facing it. it is normal to face problems, so face it.
- Exams are COMMON! Get over it.
- Objections will come! "Blessed are those who are persecuted, for their rewards are the kingdom of Heaven".
- Faith leaks! It is the same as digestion. Food goes into your mouth, into your stomach, and [leaks] out through your intestines and rectum. Do you cry and complain and say you don't want to eat anymore because it comes out all the time? NO!! You eat more to replenish!

IT IS THE SAME AS FAITH. You attend services, CGs, meetings, fellowship, Quiet Time, faith goes in... once in a while, it leaks... you replenish it!

- the more hungry you get, the more you want to be filled! its human psychology, don't rewire your humanity as an excuse to skip services. It is obviously the Liar's plan to get you stumbled.

not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able
God will not allow you to go through problems that you cannot handle? How do I know that? Think about it this way... Imagine there would be 10 suns burning the Earth, Sharks bigger than World Trade Center, Mosquitoes as big as a double decker bus, wouldn't we all have died?
Now think of it this way - if you are the bad guy, wouldn't you want to have all the above mentioned TOOLS to kill your enemies (the good guys)?
The devil could do anything... BUT, God allows and/or disallows... That is why certain problems happens at certain times for certain people in certain manner totally different from others for a certain PURPOSE!
God's purpose of allowing temptation is not to kill you, but to stretch your character and trust in Him.

make the way of escape
God will surely provide a route for you to escape, because like I mentioned above. He is not out to kill you. Sometimes (or rather many times), He wants us to hang out and find the 'exit sign'... It takes patience, it takes trust, hope, love, etc...

James 1:2-3
My brethren, count it all JOY when you FALL INTO VARIOUS TRIALS, knowing that the TESTING of your FAITH produces PATIENCE

I am living for something worthwhile!
What are you living for?

Another weekend but it is another WEEKEND

I have been attending services for 4 years already. was talking to valerie cheong this afternoon, sharing follow up and talking about life... we talked about commitment and making covenant with God. there and then, i recalled my covenant with God that I will never miss a single service. trully, i lived up to that... time has really passed.

it just dawn upon me... i have been to at least 228 "normal" services, excluding big events like FOP, emerge, conferences, seminars, bible studies, vacation bible school, BMTs, AMTs, prayer meetings, etc...

What was sad is that I can hear people say they feel bored during services... What about me? well, honestly, I don't feel bored. I am more than excited. Every sermons bring a new life to my being, it brings the sun up when it is down. It gives another purpose to live my next week - as I try to change myself to be better - to be like my Lord Jesus...

It adds another level to my principles - i love knowledge, and teachings and wise sayings.
I love to prove wrong people right by using the right method, the right way, the right words, the right principles, to the right side of life. sometimes, they just love to turn left... no wonder Jesus says, walk the narrow path, do not turn...

Life will definitely be easier if there is only 1 path.
But that will mean no challenge, no willingness, no true-felt feelings and passion, and desire.

Tests are good.
Tests shows the truth.
you are hardworking student.
you are a lazy student.
there is no bad student.
just lazy.
I love tests (feeling a pinch in my stomach =P)
but i love challenges.
it brings me further
i love bumps and shakes in life.
my goal is to make it to the end.
that grows patience. (James 1:2-3)

Imagine a rollder-coaster ride moving on ground level, going straight then right, then left then straight then straight some more, then right, the right, then up 1 metre high (only), then left, then left again, then straight, then down 1 metre, then left, then straight. you would have reached the station... how fun is that?

Life is like a roller coaster. we all get to the end. you can choose to go the EXCITING way, or the simple boring, unexciting way.

I want to change the world!
I want to make an impact.
My roller coaster will SHOCK you upside DOWN!!!

Make sure you wear the seat-belt

Revelation overflow...

Had an interesting idea to blog...
Post all my revelations!!! and my thoughts.. Sounds really good... haha... am typing with a bandaged index finger, accidentally slice off some skin just now. ooo...

1st note off my Handphone

LEAD
Not everyone is leader-leader, but everyone is a follower.
Not everyone is the kind that makes a decision and everyone in the whole world follows, like Obama, or president, or Pst Cho? haha... (everyone is a leader over themselves, that is not discussed in this scenerio)
But everyone definitely follows someone. Either their parents, siblings (usually older), friends, pastors and/or leaders...
So... not everyone is a leader-leader, but am sure all are followers.

That makes the ultimate leader-Jesus.
He do not need to follow anyone. He is God Himself and He came down and lived in a human body. Imagine God living as a human to identify with us... So He follows Himself...
Therefore, human leadership is the carrying of God's burden. - exodus
Moses was a GREAT leader, he led 4 millions people out, but he call it - serving God.
lead your life. Make decision.

FAITHFUL
For much is given, much is required.
If God has given you talents, its your honour to use it wisely. If someone gave you money, use it wisely, fruitfully.
- If not, its disobedient to God, as God tells us to be fruitful.
- frustrating. When something doesn't work as it should.

faithful to what is other man's.

be faithful to what is other man's and God will bless you yours.

Got to find your own talents and giftings. God is judging us according to our faithfulness.

God judged us same according to the talent that He gave us.

faith-root word.
To be faithful means to keep doing

going out soon

We had a great weekend! Pastor taught us the 4 part of a BIGGER series.

This time is territory.
last week was heart.
previous 2 weeks were emphasized on mindset.

We are territorial beings. God knew it all along. You can see that in the Bible...
I love the "feel something is true - then realised it has already been in the Bible" feeling... GOd always amazed us all the times. So what God likes are descendants and territories. We hold our grounds. Not in LORDING, and selfishness (part 3 has taught you about mercy), but in taking authority and having successes in life.

Owning something does not necessarily mean occupying it.

That will be sad if you saw you own your house, but you CANNOT occupy it because some bad guys or burglars have occupied you and keep you away. Its the same with us human beings.

God intended us to be a good steward of our body, soul and spirit. But sometimes we let evil thoughts occupy us and control us... "cheng he ti tong" - chinese idiom. haha...

So, take charge of your lives. If you ever feel hard to do so, that is why you need Jesus. He is the Lord of lords, God of all... He can help you barge the intruder out of anything. I love my God. He is my Protector.

Another cool phrases from Dominic's Zone F preaching.
If you are sinning, you will not pray.
If you are praying, you will not sin.

How true? People who are sinning are caught in it. They might feel guilty and shun from God and their leaders. They don't pray...
People who are praying are captivating their minds under the obedience of Christ, alligning their mind to God, and growing their spirit.

Spirit > body (flesh, lust, selfish desires, bad intentions, stupid ideas)
Spirit wins, no sins...

Enjoy... tuesday and wednesady are my 2 exam papers.
Manufacturing Logictics & Simulation
Managing Inforamation in Organization

I owe you!!!! wahahaha.... Grade A...

Going to St Gabs... you guys are exciting.. we are trying bak chor mee at serangoon. heard its nice... I love good food. hahahah...

God, help me study!

Jesus, I trust you...

I believe all things are possible... This is what I preach, this is what i live my life...

Matt 6 "Do not worry"
James 1:2-3 "Count it all joy when you fall in various trials (tests), for it produces patience..." (writer's emphasis)
Matt 25 "Parable of the talents" God has given us talents and giftings... And when we are faithful to the small things, we will be entrusted with much!

So be faithful to the small things like exams and tests, and problems with life (WITHOUT neglecting services, CG, your families, your leaders, your LIFE), and God will give you big things...

what are the big things.... woohoo... amazing... wonderful dreams...
your passion! Millionaire... pastor... church of 100,000, leaders meeting in singapore indoor stadium... WOOhoo!

Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, the mind has not conceived what the Lord has promised to those who love Him!

Study now!!!!

Love others! Respect is important.

In our Behind the Scenes series, CNN correspondents share their experiences in covering news and analyze the stories behind the events. CNN's Cal Perry reports on a refugee camp in Islamabad, Pakistan.
A child in the camp plays. The lack of clean water in the camp presents the danger of typhoid, a doctor says.

http://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/08/14/pakistan.christians/index.html#cnnSTCText

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- They are not war refugees, not displaced by violence; rather they believe they're here because they are Christian.

A mother of two sobs as she tells us, "I have no money. No money for books or uniforms to send my children to school." It's around 110 degrees Fahrenheit in this squalid camp in downtown Islamabad, where 2,000 Christians have settled, literally in the middle of the road.

The Christian population of Pakistan is only 5 percent of the overall population. Overwhelmed by a Muslim majority, at times they face violent attacks. Other times, they believe they're expelled from their lands -- faced with a distant and dark future.

This group has ended up living in tents for the past 3 months.

They say the government kicked them off their land without warning: only because they are Christian. The government tells a different story, saying that they were given plenty of warning. Further than that, they say they will take care of this problem, a problem they are well aware of.

The minister of minority affairs, Shahbaz Bhatti, says, "We are constitutionally bound to protect the life and property of the minorities and to look after the interests of the minorities in this country. Because they played a role in the founding, they are equal citizens of the country. Yes, there is a problem, but we are trying to solve those problems."

The truth is, regardless of any religious strife, people are dying of poverty in this camp. Two have died since the group settled here, and children lay in the sun, totally exposed to the sun, suffering slowly. We brought a doctor to the camp; he seemed stunned, both at its location and the conditions.

"I think there's a danger here, especially with some of the younger children, that they could just die from dehydration or from all kinds of infections," says Dr. Rixwan Taj. "I am very surprised, really because this is the center of Islamabad, just right in the center. And every facility is not but 10 minutes from here."

The water the camp is using to survive on is a broken pipe that runs underneath the road and out one side. At the camp, the water is used for drinking and washing. It happens to run over a pile of trash and directly down into the makeshift toilets, which are two holes in the ground. Taj tells us the obvious: Typhoid will come to this camp -- the conditions are ripe.

Other countries of course deal with religious strife; minorities all over the world face an uphill struggle. But here, with the addition of poverty, in the oppressive heat -- in an over-crowed camp on the side of the road in downtown Islamabad -- it seems that much worse.

Bigger

Pastor How always lift up our thoughts and change our mindset.
today was really BIGGER.

mindset is your mind that is set...
that is why sometimes you need to break it to change it.

in order to have a new bed in your room, you need to change the old one with the new. you can't possibly have both... old wineskin cannot mix with new wine...

renew your mind...

think bigger.

hate smallness.

70 is too little!

33 is too little!

$100 is too little!

10 leaders are too little!

2 CGLs are too little!

I want 100!
I want 50!
I want $1000
20 leaders then feels more like it...
5 CGLs is okay.

Want may not necessarily means materialism.
Wanting for a Godly purpose is good.
Want more prosperity to bless others is a good deed.
Want more leaders to love people more is a great desire.

Met Ivan to discuss about F2 CEG... it was inspiring and encouraging. It was role-playing too. Ivan just showed me what a zone manager does, and what a leader would do... So many things that I need to buck up and expand...

good thought of the day and encouragement for hogc leaders:
there are many churches with only 100 people or less, so all those that are leading above 30 or so should thinking like a senior pastor! =)

Think Big...

more coming up...

a bit more to go!

Saw a few inspiring twits by Mr Robb Thomson.

Here is what he preached to his congregation earlier:
1) Emotions are the prisoners of focus. (Wow, that is so true. Focus reigns over emotions)
2) Transformation is the result of being cut to the heart by Heaven's truth... The proof of its presence is a changed mind... (wooohooooo..... )
3) Spirituality maturity is not the ability to hear God's voice, but the discipline to execute its intentions (James 1:22)

Here are some more on transformations:
1) Transformation is the result of being cut to the heart by Heaven's truth... The proof of its presence is a changed mind...
2) Nothing can bring more positive change in life than the daily intake of bible doctrine...
3) Jesus has won the victory, but leaves it to us to enforce it.
4) It is only until you stop listening to yourself and begin talking to yourself that Change will take place in your life... (THIS IS SO SO TRUE! 4Dimension, change-taking thoughts)

What should i tell myself now?

a whole of computer!

Been sitting in front of the computer the whole day!

let me just blog for a while... 5 minutes... i time myself...
been doing so much of dream weaver and touching on photo shop today too.
I feel like a programmer so much!

Somehow, i felt like my course is crazy. Business process and system Engineering is enough already, and we have to learn Information Technology now to do up a web-page for our project. And when you do a web-page, you sure need pictures to design and decorate it...
My course can indirectly be called Business process and system Engineering, with Designing InfoTech. Multi-talented!

muahaha.. okay. 3 minutes up...

midnight oil is burning...

powerful insight

I realise my blog is not updated for quite some time... so i just post what is good...
saw this post by my good friend - nicholas lee shao fu...
read and be inspired!!

- During my one hour of free time by Nicholas Lee

Many many thoughts...
Freezing temperature in OC. i like the OC :)
Anyway this is my first note, awesome stuff.

Check out what i've stumbled upon.
CHC audio sermon - Maturing in character.
" you are sitting with your best friend and your worst enemy at the same time, its not the devil and Jesus but it is you! we are the our own's best friend yet at the same time we are our own worst enemy.. God doesnt force us to do things that we dont want to do. Doing things that God wants you to do? Its all depends on OUR CHARACTER.

Build our character and work on ourselves! its the most important yet its also the most easiest thing to do. We also judge ourselves by our intention and we always give ourselves the benefits of our intention. And if you can day by day intending to change and build your character... you will day by day head towards hell without even knowing! WOW! so dont give yourselves any more excuses. work on our character! Personalities and charisma will come and go with your age BUT character is all that you will have left when you have nothing left.

Another thought, 2 Tim 2: 1- 2 "Commit to faithful men who are able.."
You cannot build a ministry... you cannot build a marriage... you cannot build a CG or even a zone with unfaithful people. Why? Because faithful is the cornerstone of character!
The constant in maturity is change! if you dont change, you will never mature.
CHANGE IS NOT CHANGE UNTIL ITS CHANGED!
Its difficult to live with change but we cannot do without change!"

Awesome week

Everyone is posting about how great last weekend was, how our Pastors are our heroes, how God is moving.

Let me take 1 step forward and increase faith in everyone by sharing what God and Pastors have INFLUENCED and CHANGED us and GROWN the church. Whatever they do are not futile, but fruitful; whatever they do have an everlasting effect; whatever they do influences.

many many good news
- Poh Guang is 1 bumblebee now. He loves God so much, always reaching out. He brought a friend, shaun, last week and he came for Friday service with DR AR Bernard, and saturday Zone F service AND SUNDAY service with DR AR Bernard! Talk about being hungry for God! He is a new friend! More than that, on monday itself, Poh Guang called me and told me that Shaun is talking to his friends and telling them to visit Poh Guang's church! He is trying to bring his twin brother too. The power of revelation. God and Church are just so good to him. Poh Guang created this revival. I exalt him! Awesome. Oh, did I tell you. He is so connected with God. Of course, many of you might have heard of how Roy prayed for him during zone camp and his should was healed because of numerous dislocations. And subsequently, he was worshipping and he saw a bright light shone past. He thought it was God so he prayed and said "God, if that is you, walk past 1 more time". This time, the bright light came and stood right in front of him. And whats more, he felt an urge to raise his hands higher to worship. Then after some time, he felt tired and put his hands down, but that "light" aka angel of God or God, spoke to him to raise his hands, both hands to worship me... He just did it readily and enjoy the thick immense intimacy with God...

- Victoria is buzzing with energy. She is hungry for more follow ups. we did 3 lessons within 7 days. last one is coming soon. She is reading the bible. check out some of her posts at her facebook account. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=552190576&ref=ts
She has a conviction about God, His love, His trust, His faith, destiny... 1 day, she is going to be a strong pillar in church. She brought a friend last week, and is having more coming. When you taste some good food, you sure want to introduce them to your friends... She is simply introducing her good EXPERIENCE in church to whoever around her life. This is family, this is where our destinies are formed. Just recalled that Victoria read a book "Purpose driven life" by Rick Warren, and at 2AM!! 2AM!! she was so hungry for God that she messaged me and told me she wants to be more like Jesus and wants me to teach her as much as possible. she couldn't sleep, and kept reading, kept praying, just thinking about her future in God... Meet her for yourself and you know what i mean. =P

- Michelle yan is loving. she just loves buying things for people. bought apples and wrote card for Yvonne, her friend who was sick last week, and went all the way to her house at some isolated private estate... she buys drinks for people who they seemed thirsty. she buys jia jia liang teh for people who has sore throat. isn't she caring... God will use her wonderfully!

- Hui Hang is different!!! finally. he first came 7 months ago... wasn't convinced about God... what i love most is that he has a personal encounter with God. He came for last saturday service but wasn't so willing to come for sunday one. so he prayed and tell God: "God, if you really want me to come, then you wake up..." then he set his alarm clock at 12pm... Guess what. he woke up right before the alarm clock rings!! - C5 and C50 started fasting and praying 2 weeks ago before DR AR Bernard weekend. During the weekend with DR AR Bernard, their attendance grew by 3 each!
- C5 grew from 7 to 10.
- C50 grew from 5 to 8.
- 2 friends joined us for the 1st time. we just love making new friends.
another friend, wei bin, from Rp joined us back for the 2nd time. He was first brought by Ken. However, Ken did not come back. So what is the miracle. despire the stranger-feeling, we managed to befriend and earned his trust and he came with us (knowing that we would not sell him off at indonesia or batam. HAHA). AND HE loves the service. he learned about faith, about loving others. 1 day... 1 day... he will be like us...
- kelvin yap was supposed to go out with his friends on friday night. we prayed. just prayed and keep encouraging. on friday 3pm, it happened. he messaged and said he is no longer going out with his friends. he would like to join us for service! Praise the Lord.
- Kong Him... finally stepped out of his comfort zone and came with us alone. he is always with his good friend sherman and would never do things without each other. when it comes to church, they sure find that an excuse to not come. well. God changes and grows people. Well done Kong Him... you have grown independent! Hope you ENJOY YOURSELF... love your life.

Hmmm... is there anymore? there are just so many news... oh yes... sebastian. he just loves our church. he has been to many churches and seen many. but after last few weeks.... he has PERSONALLY encounteed the THICK THICK anointed presence of GOD in our church. indeed... God do NOT visit our church, He literally STAYS here... thats what i love about us.

Poh kian... created a scene in yuying sec... i believe God will use him to change his school. he has 1 year more to go... it is possible. be strong and of good courage, poh kian!

there are many many more.. all these were just in the past 1-2months... awesome God.. awesome people...

All the leaders... without you, these would not have happened.
Christopher, Elson, Roderick, Hong Hwee, Ai Lin, chin wee, shuqing, bellrarie, michelle yao, elaine lin, and all those who helped out in the CG like suk wah, grace seah, weimin, gordon, ziling, sam wong, suling.

lets take whatever Pastors teaches us and change the world...
we are already doing it good... just keep doing and do more!

Determination

It is not how you start, but you end.
Everyone has a fair chance to start. You were born. God created you, and your mother gave birth to you. That's the fair chance.
Anything after that, it is your choice, it is how you end it.

This is a video of someone who did not give up his race.

The amazing 400m race from the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. Britain Derek Redmond tears his hamstring, then gets up to try to finish the race.

“My country did not send me here to start the race, my country sent me here to finish it.” - Derek Redmond

Pst Kent mentioned his story last weekend. Enjoy!

Small fish in a big pond

Just being thinking a lot again recently...
Maybe its the age hormones thingy... I am like a small fish in a big pond.
I am 20 already.
I am entering in the gap of life where i got to choose what I really want.
There are so many things to set...

*Listening to "New Divide" by Linkin Park too...
...........give me reason..............(why i should do this or that?)
Now that is conviction.

So many things to set...
My career...
My family...
Who or what is going to affect my decisions in life...
Who am I following...
What do I want to get serious about... (and who)
What is my future going to become...
How am i getting there...

Money seems like a big part, it requires taming.
If you tame it well, it will be an asset to you, instead of liability.

Prosperity with a purpose.
Malachi 3:10-11 lived out in my life the past 2 weeks...
2 scenario
1 principle

Scenario 1: My father gave me a hundred bucks all of a sudden, just for fun... Increase income.
Scenario 2: My father helped me paid my HP bill of eighty on top a hundred... The key is I pay my own HP bills, so that is what make this miracle. Reduced expenditure.

Principle: Sow and you reap. You can never outgive God. 1 seed dies, and many birthed forth from there.

Lets get serious.

Readings

Inspired by pastor Lia... went reading Channel News Asia.

Read many regarding H1N1...
China closes school because 30 over primary students got infected by it - God, I pray for them!

Chris brown pleads guilty to assaulting Rihanna - Get a life...

North Korea is getting quite serious with their pride - Can someone just get Kim Jong saved?

Many new phones - Looks super duper cool and amazing! But i am saving up my money for something more important and significant. In my life, I have this phrase:
"Others can, I cannot".

South Korea has a case of euthanasia. Where they allow brain-dead people to die. The story that went online was this 76 years old woman who has been in coma since last year February. She is been kept alive artificially (by respirator). So they decided to release the respirator... Hmmm, confucius will definitely object this. How about Christ?

Lastly, the one that singaporeans will like and hate... Our health minister Khaw Boon Wan has announced that Schools will go on as per normal.
His advice to Singaporeans is to carry on with their lives normally, but keep up the high standard of personal hygiene.
I hear a sigh.... haha..

Singpapore is really hot, I need my drink now!
Back to project...

day

Its sunday 21st June. 7.55pm... my mother is behind me watching taiwan drama series; my brother and his girlfriend are buying dinner back. My dad is out somewhere unknown... My sister is out somewhere too... I am at home but feels like going out...

Can't expect that time has past so fast... My last post was on May 19... That is like 1 month ago... I am beginning to think that time rockets... flying is slow compared.

So many things have happened for the past 1 month. I had my term tests, had 3 weeks of holidays, spend many time with people, had zone camps, entered into new grounds, broke into new attendance, withdrew from chalky waters, setting platforms, springboarding! Every descriptions have a meaning to it man... haha... let me update:

i) term tests are normal... I don't have much to say. Ow... rushing projects, due tomorrow. Want to settle it fast!

ii) 3 weeks of holidays. is ending in 4 hours time! haha... By the time I sleep, it would be over. When i wake up, I will be going school! ah... don't tell me about monday blues. I can't afford it anymore. (skipped too much). hahahaha...

iii) Spend many time with people. I am out everyday. what else do you need to know? Its my passion

iv) zone camps. Awesome! Delicious, Exciting, Outrageous. Haha... Had so much time hanging out, playing, crapping, laughing, getting to know more people. More importantly, the services were life-changing.
Pastor Troy brought us up 1 level higher in the Spiritual realm.
Charleston brought us up 1 level higher in our life.
God is so important...

Spirit is greater than soul
Control your mind
your mind controls what controls you

Faith and passion and compassion for the people
Faith to believe
Passion to run
Compassion for people
Guard them in your hearts.
Do not lose it.

NEED leads to DESPERATE leads to HUNGER FOR GOD leads to BREAKTHROUGH leads to GRATEFULNESS leads to FRUITFULNESS

Cutting edge
Charge! Do not hold back! Just do it!

Expand
aH..... sho ko ra ba han deh.!!!!!!!!!

v) entered into new grounds
Helping the church as a whole, other zones... Summer Programs, Zone Camps... taking ownership, THIS IS MY HOME!

vi) broke into new attendance
Growth!! C8 exploded. last month, they were only 14 to 15... Appearing June they are already 20 odds. Last week was 22! Now is hardwork, gratefulness, and connection!
The rest - its your turn now!!

Malachi 3:10 (For the pastoral)
Try me now in this if I will not open up the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessings (souls) that you will not have enough room (leaders) to hold it...

Bring it on GOD!!!! I am ready! I will get ready for it... Just bring the people in...

vii) withdrew from chalky waters
Reorganizing my life, streamlining my focus... Juggling my life issues. too many is dangerous. should take out some. focus on some. Have a clear vision.

viii) setting platforms
Foundations! Basics! Personal breakthrough! Individual revival! Character, Discipline! Link to next point.

ix)springboarding
I had this vision... after zone camps, right after de-brief. I saw that zone camps were like spring boards. We have been hopping on the boards, pulling the tensions... Now, we are ready to spring offfFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!
Thats what revival does to you! Springboarding effect! Cool eh!

Alright, shall stop here. going for dinner with bro and mum.. watching finding nemo. ahhaha

Drawing Near [Part 1]

God desires to draw near to us... Through out Genesis to Revelations, the whole life time...

Little did we notice these things:

Exo 20:18
God saved Israel out of Egypt (Mark this), NOT to bring them to the promised Land... but God wanted Moses to bring them to the Promiser, in the wilderness.
That is why as you read their 40 years adventure, you will notice they encounter many miracles, and the most important one being at Mount Sinai where God CAME DOWN literally to find the Nation. Sadly, only Moses went up... but the Israelite were reluctant.

Another one...

1 Cor 12:2
Jesus speaks... you can find yourself idols and gods, but... only Jesus speaks to us... there is no other that speaks.

Again...

Exo 34:14
God is passionate about having a relationship with us!
That is why He sent Jesus down to SEEK us and to SAVE us...
Salvation is required!
But SEEKING comes first...! Even though we were still sinners...

God... I am loving You more than before!

RED RAIN

Please do not miss this.

10 reasons why you must come for Red Rain Concert.

1. See a Rock Concert in a church (I bet you seldom or never seen this around)

2. If you think you are young, and you want to have some hype in your life

3. If you think you are old, and you want to have some life and feel young

4. If you are not (2) or (3), you can just join in the mass

5. If you are not (4), you probably do not know what you really want. So I am telling you now - JOIN US!

6. If you have something on, but you don't feel like doing that and you have run out of excuses to reject it, Red Rain will be a good reason

7. If you think (6) is really so bad, you don't like to reject people, then I got a message for you. If any of your friends invite you for Red Rain, you should not reject them. =P

8. If you look at facebook / friendster (though people hardly uses friendster now), and you can find at least 5 friends who are somehow linked to Heart of God Church or Red Rain, you should come. There must be some reason why your friends are here!

9. If you read (9), tried to find 5 friends but couldn't, you should come too. Because it shows that you are INTERESTED at least. It is enough for you to come.... =)

10. I guarantee you, you will get something more than just a concert, more than lights, more than hype, more than the music... It is beyond words description, you got to come and FEEL it yourself.

Recovery

Just decided to blog about this for my dear friends and anybody to read...

Question: What happens when you fall? When you face a problem? When you encounter a difficulty?

I believe this is very realistic in life. Everyone of us will definitely get into this situation.

I am a faith-filled personnel.
I talk about solutions.
I care about recovery.
I desire breakthroughs.

I don't much bother about the problem itself, except the person that is victimized.. I would definitely care and concern if there is one... Other than that, I move on in life...

Tomorrow is a better day.
The future is amazing.
I want to change the world.

So what do i do when obstacles arise. What crosses my mind:

Problem can be seen as a stone. If you think the stone is bigger than you, than the problem will probably crush you.
But if you think the stone is about small enough for you to step over, then chances are you will overcome it.
Guess how I see it... I don't care how big or small the stone is... I will climb on top of it... Logic is simply because - if the stone is bigger, that makes me stand higher from the ground. I like to stand nearer to God! =)

Many times, the problem lies in the faith of the beholder. The problem is not with the problem itself, but it is in the person that sees the problem.
I am not sure if you understand what I am saying... But let me put it into an illustration.

Imagine with me a game creator and a simple game.
Most games created has a GOOD side and a EVIL side. Lets call humans against demons.
Usually the demons will seem to be winning so the humans will have to train themselves and fight again. They can go through round 1,2, then 3 and a fiercer-enough demons appear so the humans lose again... if the humans do not give up, they train harder, they will be able to win back and proceed to the next stage...
This goes on ALL THE WAY till the final stage where they fight the big boss! Even if they lose, they can train harder and come back to win...
MOST SENSIBLE game-creators will create the humans to win the demons (Good wins over Evil). Hence, no matter what happens, or how strong the evil forces are, the humans will sure have a way to win!

Lets come down to real life...
God is like the game-creator. He has created everything, terrain, creeps and all (i see a revival in DOTA gamers). Including humans and devil (and problems).
In the beginning, it may seem that humans are always having problems in life (all of you agree with me). But if you grow yourselves (level up) - grow in faith, in strength from God, you will be able to overcome the problems.
EVEN IF BIGGER PROBLEMS surfaces, you will also be able to WIN! The problem lies in yourselves - are you willing to grow yourself stronger than the problems!

God is sensible! He makes humans in His own image. We are over comers like God! We are born to be winners! You just got to grow into it, people!

So... the problem is you, and me and us! Do we have the faith-filled attitude and perspective (mark my words) to overcome in life... It is so important...

There are so many bible verses to support this.
But I just want to say this... Christianity is a relationship with God. Even if you fail, God will pull you back on track - so do not give up...

Hosea 6:1-3...
torn - God will heal
broken - God will bind
depress - God will brighten

In 2 days, God will revive you!
In 3 days, God will raise you up!

God has raised you up in a time like this to use you to change the world around you!

Mark my words... How does God raise you up higher? What can possible make you stand higher from the surface of the ground? What is between your feet and the ground?

It is the stone (problems).
So recover, my friends... no matter what you face in life...

John 15:16 (Jesus says) "you did not choose Me, but I have chosen you that you may go out there to bear much fruits, and that your fruits should remain. And whatever you ask the Father in My Name, He shall give it to you".

We all have a destiny, we can change the world around us... Only WE can change the WORLD around US.

In the letter "P" the "stone (o) is at the top which shows that the problem is overcoming you as in the meaning of "Problem". Whereas in the letter "d" the stone (o) is at the bottom which shows that the problem is below you, making you higher as in the meaning of "destiny".

When you have a destiny in God, your stones will not hinder you anymore. They lift you up many times... You are not disturbed by them simply because you have more important things to do in life!

Let's make history together Heart of God...

Managing Information in Organisations

Just when I was about to type down what I learn, the class suddenly ended... Ha-ha..

Nonetheless, let me blog down something...

1) Data
2) Information
3) Knowledge

Data is pure facts.
Information is the analysis, classifying, patters of data.
Knowledge is the application of information...

exhortations

woohoo... I am so excited now. waiting for Christian, we are going to racky... explore. I feel so much like full-time now. Able to "GO" anytime the church needs to get something done. Thank God, my friday lessons are all canceled so I don't need to SPECIALLY apply "OFF" for it. Ha-ha!!!

The past 2 weeks have been a CHANGE.
I am getting used to school.
I am changing the way I think.
I am changing the way I talk.
the way I see things.
the way I perceive, etc...

I feel different, but I feel good!

Thats why this quote is just so sensible:
"The only constant in the world is change". But well, God is constant too, He has, and will always be the same. But other than God, every other things changes all the time.

And that is good!
I sound like Genesis. [God created the heavens and God saw that it was good.] Lol...

Many random thoughts going through my mind, so I will just bombard them all out now before Christian arrives... It is good to be early! =)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Pastor LIA!!!
I find it very hard to describe you, my spiritual mother!
The word "Wonderful" underestimates you!
"Wise" under-statement you!
If i were to say you are "loving", it is considered an insult...
If I really have to find some word to describe you, I might have to speak in tongues! Ha-ha!

You are so important in my life! You have changed me and given me life...
Thank you Pastor!

Whatever you focus on will grow!

How many of you want to do great things in life? How many of you do actually have some form of dreams, be it those that you wish would come true, or those that you do not think will come true…
I believe all of you have dreams.
So do I.
I want to carry the burden of my Pastors and my leaders. I want to be a pastor – in that order.

You would have heard of Martin Luther King Jr’s famous speech “I have a dream” – his dream came true.
You would have heard William Wilberforce who dreamt and fight against the slave trade – his dream came true 4 days shortly after he died.
You would have heard of Pastor How and Pastor Lia who dreamt that one day we would have a “cross-shaped” stage – their dreams came true.

So how do you let that dream or goal of yours get born into reality…

First) FIRST. That’s right, it is not a typo, nor am I sleepy. You got to be willing to put it first in your life. If you do not want it hard enough, how would you be able to get it? How would you even deserve it if you get it.

Matt 6:33 “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you”. I believe your dreams are included in “all these things”.

So seek them first! Chase after your Godly visions and goals!

Second) Oblige. Many people hear this word and they sulk because no one likes to do something out of obligation. It doesn’t bring comfort to a soul.
When you are obliged to give, means that you do it because someone tells you so.
When you are obliged, you don’t do it willingly.
Oblige is the opposite of willingness.
Never feel oblige.
But before I kill the word “oblige” in your heart, how many of you want to hear why it is the second point to make your dreams real.
Open your ears and listen to me attentively (Or read carefully). If you really want to do something, you will not let it go, to the extent that you feel obliged to keep to it and never give it up.

It is like “Others can, I cannot”.
People can choose not to pray, nor tithe, but I don’t give myself a choice. I must do it if I want to be this...that... or that...
Obligation
If you feel that way towards your dreams, I believe strongly that your dream has a future! Because you never give up, and never give in!

Thirdly) Concentrate. I do not need to belabor this point. Give your attention, your mind, your energy and concentrate on what you want to achieve/accomplish.
Concentration is the secret of strength – Ralph Waldo Emerson (An American poet, lecturer, essayist)
If you are able to concentrate, you can do 1 thing well.
If you are able to muster the skill of concentrating as and when you want, you can do many things well.

Fourthly) Understand. It is not enough to have a dream and run after it. You need to understand the situation and find the best way to achieve your goal.
There is a Chinese sayings “Zhi di zhi bi, bai zhang bai sheng”. It means that you need to know your enemy, and yourself, then you can have successful victories. Understand the situation, understand your strength and weakness, so you can exalt on your strengths and work on your weaknesses, and enjoy winning your battles!

Fifth) Serious. Get serious. If you really want it, you get serious and make things happen. Willingness drives.
Willingness sparks energy!
Willingness speaks about the extra mile!
Only when you are serious about it!
When you are serious about this, you give up something else.
“For everything you have missed, you have gained something else, and for everything you gain, you lose something else.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Are you serious enough to chase after your dreams.........and give up other things? You know what might hinder you...
So are you going to get serious?...I hope you do.

So how are you accomplishing your dream and destiny?
If you want to see it come true, you need to have the five points!

1) First
2) Obligation
3) Concentrate
4) Understand
5) Serious

Let me tell you, if you are able to FOCUS, you will be able to do great exploits for God!
It is the power of FOCUS that brings one far!
Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
That is why, whatever a man can imagine himself to be, he shall become.
It is the faith, 4dimension power!
The total mustering of energy and mind to do 1 thing that creates the change in it.
Whatever you FOCUSes on, will grow.

What are you FOCUSing everyday? How about today?

1, 2, 3

I had this inspiration all of a sudden so as a blogger, I will type it out. Ha-ha...
Interestingly, if you ask me where is my fav spot or location in life. I will ask you back, with whom it concerns with... Because if it is with man, i am not too sure, as it doesnt really matter, but if it is WITH GOD, i must say it is the toilet...

It is the place where I go to when I am down, when I am happy, when I am stuck, growing, depressed, delighted, whatever! It is where revelation comes, convictions are set... It is where I find God.. It is my secret place!

This inspiration came from there too. =P

So 1,2,3. Everyone has been talking about it for the past 1 to 2 months at least.
Let me tell you what is my 1, 2, 3.

They are:
1) Master
2) Mission
3) Mate

My no.1 always comes first, nothing can replace. In fact, when I think through my life, and really know why I love no.1, then I thought I might like no.2 a bit as they are related in some senes. But still, I like no.1 most! Then when time passes, no.3 will also come into the picture just to show that I really like no.1 and no.3 happens to be a support for that conviction. So why must I still have 1, 2 and 3 when I know I have my 1 already. It is to prove that aout of MANY CHOICES in life, you will still choose this 1. That makes it precious. 2 and 3 are important, i must say, but i never neglect 1!!

to be continued...

Photos

Posted a few photos into my computer and decided to blog it out too because my Handphone cannot store more than 5 photos! Pathetic. ha-ha.. lost the memory card during some servicing checks...

Picture 1: 3 packets of tissues and 1 crumpled newspaper.

You can guess what it is. These were Su Ling's surprise birthday presents. Ha-ha. It was so funny! But the truth is... yet to be unveiled.. ha-ha. By the time Su Ling reads my blog, she will have know it already. Ha-ha. So Shhh....

Picture 2: Familiar to everyone who came to Heart of God Church before September 2007.

These 2 pictures are the lobby of FTMS house. If you recall the beautiful lights, and the 3 lifts. And seriously, it the building has turned into GE Money. And you actually needs to "tap" your card before entering the lifts. Aw... We couldn't explore upstairs. But well, the future is more amazing. Ha-ha.

Picture 3: Out of the blue, funny people.
This is a bicycle being chained to the poles of a "monkey bar". I wonder who did that. A bit creative, but quite unthoughtful? Hmmm...

Picture 4: Advertisement at Yishun Library. Funny! and thought-provoking.

The signs read: Please protect Library books.
Read and understand. =)

parable

I loves parables. Jesus loves to preach in parables!
It relates better to people who understands it...

That is why Jesus used many stories of fisherman and farmers in the 4gospels... and taxpayers etc...

Yup... And I love the bible very much so i always remember the stories in the bible, and talk about it in my daily conversations. hence, sometimes, some people may not understand immediately what I am saying until I explain to them the story that I used to illustrate my points then they understand... yup... Well, i feel that it is both good and bad to be like this.

Good that I know the bible stories. I can use them to encourage myself or others when needed.
Bad that if i use them too often and does not explain enough, people will not understand what I am saying...
So should always spare a thoughts for people.

Love others as you love yourself... - golden rule from Jesus.

Lets have bedtime POEM before I sleep.
2 are better than 1,
a 3 fold cord is not easily broken.
Blessed it is, to have friends around you,
Ecclesiastes is a great book!
1 book after is a different story...
the songs of Solomon is something else... and more.
Read and you shall understand,
what Solomon was trying to bring to hand.
His life, his behavior and his thoughts,
as he was growing through his emotions.
It is God's desire that 1, we become,
but before, strong that 1 should be.
To withhold, refrain, and have true freedom.
Saying a millions "yes" but a few IMPORTANT "no".

In case i digress...
2 are better than 1.
Encouragement, you do to each other in adversity...
Friends are so important.
I shall stay in Ecclesiastes for the time being...

Purpose of blogging

Finding something to post today and decided on this one... what is my purpose in blogging...

1) It helps me to think about life. Whenever you blog, you will sure touch on your life issues. Out of the heart, the mouth speaks. And for the blogger version - out of the heart, the hand types. So whatever that is happening to you will surely be publicize on your blog depending on your courage to show it out, and your command of language to spice it up, and your determination to actually do it... People usually pass the first 2 but fail at the last one. =P

2) It influences. I will sure love to write a book next time when I am established and the church is going on well, with people running it. I believe Pastors will sure write too... Write our revelations, whatever God has shown us in our lives. Our convictions, our knowledge. Our versions of the Bible perceived. Our perspective of God encountered. Our revelations of the truth of God. So i pray that whatever I write will help someone, somewhere, somewhat, somehow in something...

3) It allows me to plan. One other thing that i like about blogging is also that as I type, i also begin to plan things. I plan my life, settle things, and sets a platform for further planning. It is pretty a good tool to get your brainstorming juice warmed up. Yup!

4) It recollects my life, my encounters. Pastor shared with us before that they have a revelation or thinking book where they write revelations from God, plannings for the church or any sorts. So that book kinda punctuates their life stories with the special encounters and processes they go through. So blog is like my style of doing it... Whatever revelations I have or thoughts that I think, it goes up. (Except a few that are personal and confidential) That will sure need some privacy... ha-ha... Only a few are gained access. hahaha.

That is about it... how about you? Why do you blog?

today

Today was a fun day! Had a great chill-over at PS with some of them. Missed Grilled chicken, and fried fish soup so I ate grilled chicken first… Will come back for the fried fish soup soon… =)

Went to walk around tecman, then to SKS (a warehouse, and there is this room where they sell a lot of Christian books and materials) It is cheaper, so far I believe…

Bought Piercing the darkness and am very determined to finish it by this week. Help Nicholas bought a few more other books… Roy wanted a bible commentary but think twice… Maybe he will get it next time. I want 1 too, but next time too… ha-ha.

Speaking about spirituality, I felt a direction by God last weekend.

For the month of April
2 things to grow in
1) Spirituality (Anointing, discernment, worship, flow)
2) Breakthrough mentality (Anti-“nua” or laid-back attitude, be on cutting edge)

I think some of us have come to a point in our lives that we are getting very used and comfortable with things and get laid-back at times. Well, it should never be enough or even be that way…
Our worship life should be breaking through to the next level!
Our prayer life should touch heaven in the higher level!
Our revelations should be must closer to God’s character and nature.
Our selves should be feeling different every time.
This is breakthrough!

So I want to have this aggressive spirit, be on the front, cutting-edge, to breakthrough, to touch God, to encounter supernaturalism.

I also need to grow in the Spirit. It links…
I am doing a few things:
1) Read “Piercing the darkness”
2) Read “This present darkness”
3) Read “spiritual leadership”
4) Pray and worship every morning and night.
5) Prepare for every meetings by praying and asking God.
6) Join in any of my leaders’ meetings where there are a lot of spiritual things to learn.
7) Don’t lean on chair, or wall so often… Train myself to have a stand firm, breaking through spirit. =P this is a bit funny. But I feel that first instinct of a human being makes a lot of the person’s character.

Lastly, I must say that I am getting a bit more spiritual and able to flow already. It really thanks to music and worship and prayer. Music really can make something out of a person.
Music can make one feel more, either emotionally, mentally or even spiritually
Music can definitely make someone emo… Ha-ha!

Well… It was so interesting that I was kind of craving for music just now when I realized that I have a few things yet to be sent in… It was so “not me” if you know what I mean. I never used to have that habit… Nonetheless, things have changed my life. I believe everyone has that experience somehow… So this responsibility change your perspective about life, how that incident brought a change, how a person has a impact on your life, etc… etc… And MORE!

Well… got to sleep…

Ciaos… (got it right this time round :P )

well....

today was great!

had a great service!

Lets have the spirit of faith more...

lets say "yes" more!
Les say "can" more!

God is a permissive God!
God is a Yes God!

He says yes to millions of things
BUT - He says "no" to a few that are bad to us...

I love my God. He gives us the best!

Memorize a verse today!
Shall put it into my heart later on as I pray!

Blog again! tomorrow will be great!

Isaiah 43:29

Isaiah 43:29 is no verse... It cannot be found in the Bible, but i found it... Let me share with you.

If you read the last part of Isaiah 43, verse 22 to verse 28 is about "pleading with unfaithful Israel".
It is like crying out, complaining, troubled...

And Chapter 44 is about "God's blessings on Israel", or rather, deliverance, and prayer comes true...

So what is 43:29?

As I look... I felt this sensation rising up inside my Spirit.
verse 29 is the connector from Chapter 43 to Chapter 44... And it is called strength.
Before your prayer gets answered, you need strength to hang on...

Simple... no fancy tricks... no ultra-exciting story...
Just a simple word from God - "Strength"...

Be strengthened...

But if you need a real verse for strength - look up Isaiah 40:29... =) That was what I wanted to say at first...

Loves getting revelations from the Holy Spirit!

Reality is here

Had a great week just passed... So many thoughts came to mind... There are so many things that I want to do... So before I do them all, I decide to think about it, sort out my thoughts, know what I want, see what I need. And I am going to do all these by blogging. =P

What motivated me:
1) The recent grumbling voices of peers. You would have hear many people saying "we are turning 20 soon!" Some of them "21!"... That really bring some feelings though the age itself does not make any diff... But as you talk about it long enough, reality kicks in... You are entering into a new phase of life... Trust me... If you don't see it yet, you need to talk to me! ha-ha...

2) Followed Pastor How to a conference. I had the privilege to follow Pastor How around and interact with some pastors and older people. There is something about older people that they think more, as they hold responsibility of things, particularly when they are serving full-time in church. They really are doing something, compared to any other other people in the world. The things they talk about, the concerns they have, the things they ponder upon... It just expanded my mindset, and stir up my growth juices. I need to "up" my thinking... hearing how Pastor evaluate and explore thought-flow pattern and scenarios just interest me... I need to go up to that level, MAN!!!

3) had a great LCA evaluation mtg w Roy and Fifi... It really helped me see where I am at now, and where I need to work on further. It was so good as I am clearer of myself now... In fact, a new thought dawn upon me... increasingly, as one rises up as a pastor, they are actually doing more administrative work than before... Even to the point of having minimal contact with people, even though they are supposed to love and pastor people... The truth is simple - they pastor people by planning better, sorting manpower wiser, making sure things happen nicely, help create opportunities for growth, teaching what is important, guiding whenever possible... It is a different ballgame. So I asked myself this question - do I want to carry on doing what I am doing now, or will I want to grow and change accordingly. There is also an invisible question as to whether you can even change or not. Some people just cannot seem to grow in admin skills. I pray that you all can, but then again... reality kicks in... You can't be sure of what happens.

4) had a insightful hang out with Charleston. Just knowing that he has ORD and is going on full-time in church made me salivate and then THINK MOre... I just can't seem to stop thinking, ha-ha... hearing his thoughts and insights and plans to work on just shows me how real this world is getting as our age is catching up.

Do you ever wonder why you don't think that much when you were younger? Like 14? or even 17? Why 20? hahaha.... Nonetheless, reality is here! I need to get serious!

So what do I want... here are some of it:

1) Know what I want. =P Pretty redundant to put this right? haha. But honestly, I want to know what I really want so I can do what I need...

2) Know what I like. Pastor Sy also mentioned about this during the seminar that from the age of 20 - 25 is when we start sorting out our likes and dislikes and having principles in our lives. I believe career is included here, fashion style tags along, passion leads the way, and increasingly becoming popular BGR is creeping up during this period too... Don't smirk, you are experiencing it. =p I can see you giggle. ha-ha... We are all... face it. reality is here. alastair, you are too young still (if you are reading this. ha-ha...)

3) Know what I dislike. This is the direct opposite. Well, it must tag along with number 2, i supppose. They are buddies. There must be boundaries, and not just 1 sided direction. So what do i dislike?
Faithlessness? Barrenness? Stagnance? over-anxiety?

4) Know what i need. Again, this is simply facing the reality. We are idealistic, but we cannot throw away the real world. We need things. Money, shelter, survival, etc... The difference is, we live in idealism, with a reality in mind. this is sustainable idealism! =)

A list of things that I want to achieve:
- Church finances. I want to move out of SingPost! pray for prosperity!
Deu 8:18 "It is God who gives us power to get wealth!" It shall be done!
- Church growth. Both quality and quantity!
Eph 4:16 "From whom the whole body is knit together, according to the effective power of each part, causes growth of the body and the edifying of itself in love!"
Growth in quantity / edifying in strength. That is why we must be in union!
- Leadership
Judges 5:2 "When leaders lead in Israel, and the people willingly offer themselves, bless the Lord!.
Psalm 78:72 "And he(David) shepherded the people with the integrity of his heart, and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.
God, my prayer is that you help us in this, give us wisdom, let us be strong and be of good courage, lead us by your Spirit, raise up MORE leaders! Let discipleship be the flavor of the many generations to come!
- Connection, culture.
Isaiah 54:2 "Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare, lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes.
The spirit of Pastor Lia when she led the youth AGES ago will still be dominant in the generations to come. Let there be a double portion upon our leaders and members, the same love and heart and care be of preeminence in the bountiful number of CGs we will have.

A few thoughts from Pst Sy... I will not belabor the points. he is a great communicator, clear and such great rapport! So what Im really amazed...:
- Raising Sexually healthier kids in a world of risk (4 purposes for sex, what is God's intend for our sexuality, Immaturity versus Maturity, Insecurity versus Security, how and when to tell your kids about sex) I shall not disclose them so you may go and get the CDs or DVDs. =)

Okay, what i really liked:
- Many times, its not about what people intend for you that matters, but its how you perceive it. Same goes vice versa.
- Strong immune system kicks out unknown objects. Hmmm. it definitely applies to strong conviction kicks out unknown influences.
- Discipleship = reparenting. So true....
- feelings are temporary, consequences are permanent!
- you have no control as to falling into a problem, but you can definitely choose to get out of it.
- Vision pulls people out of problems. So So so true...
- Cannot be perfect, just be effective. IT HELPS SUPER LOT!!!!
- Recognising an unpreventable risk is half the battle won.
- A good parent is one whom their children approaches for advices, in happiness, and in sorrow. How true can this get for the spiritual view... Hmmm. A lot of reflection to do....

Thank you Pastor sy for teaching.
Thank you PASTORS for inviting.

its so real...

God has blessed us with this already!!

1) Growth - Mindset
2) Pastors
3) Conviction of the people - Idealism
